Maternity, child health and family planning services

The maternity clinic provides monitoring services and guidance and counselling during pregnancy and support in becoming a parent. The matters monitored in the periodic visits at the nurse’s and at the physician’s office include the progress of the pregnancy and the well-being of the mother. Matters worrying the family or related to health and well-being are discussed.

In child health clinics, the growth and development of the child is monitored with periodic visits. At the same time, the health and well-being of families is supported and guidance is provided in matters related to childcare and upbringing.

Family counselling centres provide support and guidance for families with children aged 0–12 years. You can contact a family counselling centre when you feel that your personal resources are insufficient, you are worried about your child’s behaviour, or there is concern or sorrow in the family.
